 The villa comprises four clusters of single-storey buildings linked by covered walkways, terraces, ornamental ponds and secret gardens, offering private spaces that guests can escape to, or social areas for dining, relaxing and recreation. Characterised by white pillars, ironwood shingle roofs, sliding glass doors with teakwood frames, and a swimming pool that meanders through the centre of the flat velvety lawn, Lataliana oozes sophistication and contemporary charm harmonised with artistic flair, a touch of local history and more than a nod to Balinese Hindu culture. The villa’s sophistication spills across into the superb gourmet cuisine prepared and cooked by three excellent chefs, and the 24-hour, ‘Four Seasons’- trained butler service.

The entrance to Lataliana I brings guests through a covered walkway into an open-sided dining pavilion which forms the hub of the villa and is positioned to one side of the feature swimming pool. At the top end of the pool is the joglo balé pavilion, behind which two separate entrances lead to the two very private self-contained guest suites. At the far end of the pool is a wide building housing one of the master bedrooms, the living room and the TV room. Beyond here, linked by a walkway and separated by ornamental ponds are two more bedrooms – one of which is the second master – and a kitchenette. The main service kitchen is situated out of sight at the back of the dining pavilion, while another unique thatched gazebo beckons from the opposite side of the pool. 

Bedrooms

All five of Lataliana’s bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, satellite channel TVs and Blu-ray disc players. Each has its own unique character or colour scheme – ranging from gold to pink to turquoise – and each is elegantly furnished with beds, cabinets, and chests fashioned from the recycled wood of a traditional sailing boat. Four bedrooms feature king-size beds (two of which can be converted to twins) while the smallest bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed. The two master bedrooms have retractable mosquito nets around their beds. All five ensuite bathrooms are remarkably spacious; finished with non-slip acid marble floors, and fitted with twin washbasins, soaking tubs, and monsoon showers that are open to the sky in private walled courtyards or gardens. Even the old ship’s rum barrels have been used to create the vanity units in one of the bathrooms.

Living Room

The large living room has glass doors at both the front and the back that can be opened for cross ventilation or closed for air-conditioned comfort (ceiling fans are also an option). This elegant room is furnished with a baby grand piano, an Oriental rug, and segmented sofas and modern daybeds big enough to accommodate ten people. Soaring above the terrazzo floor is a pitched roof with a skylight at its pinnacle which channels sunlight or moonlight into the room and highlights a spectacular chandelier reminiscent of a bunch of gold ribbons. The gold theme is carried through to a fountain ornamenting the pond that lies just beyond this room. The living room is perfect for entertaining as it opens to a broad covered terrace running the length of the building, just a step or two above the pool deck.TV Room Connected to the living room is an air-conditioned home theatre room with Bose surround sound and a 51-inch flat-screen satellite-channel TV and Bluray disc player, complemented by a library of 1000 DVDs. The room is furnished with three comfortable sofas, two of which are customised chaise longues, each big enough for two, plus a large daybed-type-sofa big enough for at least four, all are crafted from the recycled wood of an old phinisi boat. Fitted shelves on one wall are filled with books while glass doors open to the covered terrace at the front.

Dining Room

Open on three sides to the pool deck, the dining pavilion features a terrazzo floor and stone pillars supporting a vaulted wood-lined roof. Cooled by natural breezes and four ceiling fans, it is furnished with a solid wood table seating 16 and a sideboard. A guest wash room also leads off the dining pavilion, and to one side is a pond which carries the sound of water in motion as it cascades over a traditional wooden mortar that was originally used for threshing rice. 

Kitchen

The villa’s commercial kitchen, professionally equipped with stainless steel appliances, is conveniently situated behind the dining pavilion and is the domain of Lata Liana’s three chefs. In addition, a small kitchenette for guest use is positioned next to the bedrooms towards the back of the property, and equipped with a kettle, coffee maker, toaster and fridge.

Garden and Pool

The 25-metre free-form swimming pool features comfortable lounging shelves at two ends and a bubbling water feature crafted from an old millstone. Three ancient frangipani trees have been transplanted around the pool deck, together with a unique relaxation gazebo – actually a traditional, Indonesian, grass-roofed cowshed, which presents an unusual twist on the more-familiar form of balé pavilion. At the head of the pool, presiding over the garden is a second balé, featuring the ornately-carved core of an antique timber joglo building from Java, complete with a typical trapezium-shaped roof. This multipurpose structure can be used as a wedding pavilion, a bar area with a portable bar, or a dining venue with a removable awning that extends to the four corners of the raised deck. To one side of this is a gamelan of smiling musicians depicted in white stone. 

Lata Liana is ideally located just 500m from the beach in the very heart of trendy Seminyak. This is an area exemplified by chic cocktail bars, designer boutiques, internationally-acclaimed fine-dining restaurants and hot night spots.. Upon your arrival at Bidadari Cliffside Estate, attentive Security Guards will greet your chauffeured automobile at the driveway substantial louvered gates. You will be ushered into the private central motor court where the Villa Manager awaits to introduce you to the property and villa staff. Through the doorway of the reflecting pool floating wall you enter into the Central Garden Courtyard. The lush courtyard garden hosts two monumental yet contemplative Buddha statues that smile with welcome blessings.

Bidadari Cliffside Estate is consist of 4 king sized bedrooms, 3 bedrooms in the main building and the other bedroom (cabana) is standing on the cliff. The master bedrooms (Master suite 1 & Master suite 2) located in the upstair looking out to the blue ocean and separated by media room. Each master suites has a wonderful outdoor bathtub with natural & lush garden. The guest room located in the downstair near by living and dining room.

Great food will be a focal point during your stay at Bidadari Cliffside Estate. The House Chef is experienced on the preparation of both Western food and Asian food. The Chef will be happy to introduce you to quality Indonesian cuisine utilizing the best and freshest local ingredients. When Western style cuisine is desired the Chef can turn-out some of the most delicious meals available on the Island. We encourage you to feel free to request a wide variety of meals that the Chef will expertly prepare for you during your stay. If you have special dietary requirements or food allergies, just advise the Chef upon your arrival and he will thoughtfully meet your dietary requirements.

Massage Therapists

One of the key results of your Bidadari Cliffside Estate experience should be total relaxation and stress relief. Perhaps the best way to achieve this state of being is through a massage provided by one of our recommended Massage Therapists. Plan your message appointment through the Villa Manager and the Therapist will come directly to the villa for your treatment.

Housekeeper
The Houskeeing Service Staff will keep everything orderly and clean around the Villa during your stay. They will fluff your pillows and make your bed every morning and provide you with a constant supply of fresh fluffy bathroom towels. Every detail will be looked after to assure the villa remains immaculately maintained for your enjoyment.

Laundry
Bidadari Cliffside Estate is equipped with a large-size profesional washer and dryer. Just give the Villa Manager or Housekeeping Staff instructions on what personal items you would like laundered and those items will be carefully washed and dried and returned to you. Bed sheets will be laundered every-other day unless you request otherwise. Fresh towels are provided daily. Should you have anything that you wish to dry-clean, please speak with the Villa Manager who can organize this service and advise you when the dry cleaning can be returned to you. There will be additional charges for dry cleaning.

Bidadari Cliffside Estate provides Wi Fi Connection throughout the Main Villa.

Private Security

Bali histrionically has very little crime or incidences of home burglaries particularly in the Banjar or neighborhood where Bidadari Cliffside Estate is located. However Bidadari Cliffside Estate Management for your privacy and protection has a full-time 24 hours per-day Security Officer Watch circulating around the property parameter. The Private Security force is professionally trained on how to handle a would-be intruder and will work with the local Police should there be such an occurrence. You will see the friendly Security Personnel wearing their Informal Tropical Tan Uniforms as you enter the Estate.

Professional Yoga Instructors are available by appointment to provide personalized Yoga lessons. Classes range from beginners to advanced and can be for one person or up to six individuals participating.

Cooking Class

The Executive Chef at Bidadari Cliffside Estate can provide you with personalized cooking classes highlighting Indonesian food made with fresh local ingredients. Learn how to make a Balinese favorite like Soto Ayam (Savory Chicken Noodle Soup) or something more complex like a Bebek Betutu (Balinese Duck roasted with traditional spices). And for the adventurous who like it hot, explore the varieties of Balinese Sambal (Hot local chilies mixed with local spices to make a hot savory seasoning paste). The Chef will be happy to write down the recipes for you so that you can reproduce these dishes when you get back home.

Paragliding
The updraft breezes along the Bidadari Cliffside Estate coastline create an ideal environment for Paragliding. This sensational and skillful sport suspends the rider from a kite-like glider. A rainbow of gliders can be seen from the villa as the Paragliders wisk silently along the coastline edge. Should you be so daring, your Villa Manager can set you up with a professional Paraglider for an assisted Paraglide experience , available seasonally.

Fishing
Many varieties of fish can be found along the Bidadari Cliffside Estate Coastline. Cast your line in the waters along the cove and you just might catch a red snapper. Or if you prefer to leave that task up to a local fisherman, have the Chef order fresh fish from the Kelp Farmers and they can often find local crab and delicious fresh fish that can be prepared by your Chef for your dining delight.

Ocean Kayaks are available for exploring the beautiful and dramatic coastline surrounding the Bidadari Cliffside location. Explore the gentle coves during low tide and discover the scenic beauty of the virgin beaches.

This eco-conscious ‘retreat by the sea’ is designed to enhance the gentle surroundings with the natural elements for a stay that is intended not only for a valuable holiday in Bali, but to create an organic, integral experience for contemplation, rejuvenation and nurturing among friends and family.

Living Area

One enters Taman Ahimsa into a boat-like shaped bamboo façade living area with comfortable interior design of recycled wood furniture and Indonesian batik pillows. It is connected to a large dining area. This gracious living area is located in the main two-storey pavilion, which presides over the entire property.

There are two sitting areas facing the gardens and sea, one is an elevated section with two antique daybeds, a chair and a coffee table, while at the lower level are two long built-in couches facing the garden and sea, as well as a magnificent antique low table, created from an old wooden boat, complete with six chairs. On the other side of this level is an open-air deck, with a frangipani tree growing through the floor. Walls and ceilings in this building are lined with bamboo.

Dining Room

The dining room is incorporated in the elevated open plan living area with lovely views of the garden. It is furnished with a huge wooden dining table that seats 14, over which dangles a pair of exquisitely designed copper lanterns. Adjacent to this is an antique hand-carved wooden window panel, which frames the cooking area of the gourmet kitchen.

Manipura

This stunning master bedroom accessed via a wooden bridge over a Balinese pond offers guests the ultimate of romance. This bedroom represents a combination of the yellow Solar-Plexus and the Crown Chakras, linking self esteem, intuition and a connection with spirit. Its graceful boat-shaped curves, combined with a high ceiling and 12 metre squared space graciously houses a 2.3 metre-wide bed and royal mosquitto net canape.

This master bedroom features handmade soft furnishings, a large dressing area with fitted wardrobes, air conditioning as well as a private terrace. The large ensuite semi open-air bathroom incorporates a slate paved floor and a bamboo ceiling, and is bordered by a lovely garden. This romantic bathroom is fitted with a huge hollowed out river rock tub, twin river rock washbasins, and a standing rainshower.

Sahasrana

This large air-conditioned bedroom follows a violet color theme, representative of the Crown Chakra, meaning oneness with the infinite – peace and wisdom. The room is furnished with a super-king rattan bed and built-in wardrobes. The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a terrazzo bathtub, river rock washbasin, and a walk-in rainshower. A TV room is positioned next to the bedroom and creates the feeling of a large suite. There are stunning panoramic views from the terrace. This is an ideal family area as it is linked to the bedroom next door by a charming bridge.

Vissudha

This air-conditioned bedroom has an oval roof reminiscent of the hull of a ship, with sliding glass doors at front and windows that wrap around the sides. It is furnished with a king size bed and follows a blue color theme representing the Throat Chakra and the expression of truth through the power of the spoken word. A round window behind the bed looks into the dressing room, and behind this is a bathroom with a recycled ironwood floor. The bathroom is fitted with an over sized terrazzo bathtub, a glass walled shower, and a river rock basin on a tamarind wood vanity stand. There is a sweet balcony at the front for private relaxation.

Anahata

This circular air-conditioned bedroom is designed in the shape of a sacred spiral. It is located close to the main living and dining pavilion and follows a green theme representative of the Heart Chakra and the expression of love. It is furnished with a king bed and features a small dressing area with fitted wardrobes, as well as a private terrace, hidden by short hedges. The beautiful ensuite garden bathroom is fitted with a hollowed out river rock bathtub, twin river rock washbasins, and a standing rainshower.

Ajna

This circular air-conditioned bedroom is designed in the shape of a sacred spiral. It follows an indigo theme representative of the Third Eye Chakra, the channel of intuition. It is furnished with a king bed and features a small dressing area with fitted wardrobes. The ensuite garden bathroom is fitted with a hollowed out river rock bathtub, twin river rock washbasins, and a standing rainshower. This circular air-conditioned bedroom is designed in the shape of a sacred spiral. It follows an orange theme representative of the Sacral Chakra – the utilization of creative forces in all aspects of being. Muladhara

This circular air-conditioned bedroom is designed in the shape of a sacred spiral and positioned closest – of all the bedrooms – to the beach. It follows a red theme representative of the Base Chakra, the ground spirit force of the body and the ability to work lovingly on the physical plane. It is furnished with a king bed and features a small dressing area with fitted wardrobes, as well as a private terrace, hidden by short hedges and shrubs. The ensuite garden bathroom is fitted with a hollowed out river rock bathtub, twin river rock washbasins, and a standing rainshower.

Swimming Pool Area

The freeform 20-metre swimming pool is lined with green Java stone, and bordered by an ironwood deck furnished with over-sized rattan sun beds and umbrellas. It employs a low-to-no chemical ozone system that is soft on the earth and gentle on the skin. There is a large poolside lounge area here with connecting second pool dining area with kitchen and sitting area – ideal for leisure breakfasts, lunches, afternoon tea and sunset gatherings. It also doubles as a yoga/martial arts studio. Two ‘bales’ or relaxation pavilions are in this area for therapeutic massages that can be arranged with some of the best masseurs on the island.

Meditation Circle

Positioned in the garden is a meditation circle marked by 16 stones and is available for guests’ use. Special meditation ceremonies can be arranged in this site.

Massage Bale

In a corner of the garden, immediately beside the beach, is a delightful elevated massage pavilion with antique wooden paneling, originally an old Javanese Joglo. This is one of several spots for a therapeutic massage, which can be arranged with a Balinese healer.

Garden

The enchanting garden meanders down to the swimming pool and beach, via stone pathways. The rolling lawns are dotted with palms and punctuated with lily ponds and lanterns, fragrant flowering trees and giant taro leaves, creating a stunning garden of peace, ‘Taman Ahimsa,’where one can discover spaces created for retreat.

Gourmet Kitchen

The spacious gourmet kitchen is conveniently positioned next to the dining area and is fully equipped with ample modern appliances and amenities – everything that the cooks need in order to prepare fresh, wholesome cuisine, using primarily organic vegetables and fruits, ayurvedic ingredients and fresh fish caught daily by our local fisherman.

Staff

The training of the staff and service at Taman Ahimsa is based on the philosophy of the home and with an experienced anticipation of the needs of guests visiting Bali. There is an onsite manager to directly communicate any requests from guests, ranging from restaurant reservations to horse riding, surfing, cycling, fishing, rafting, hiking and unique cultural experiences. Taman Ahimsa is supported by a carefully selected team of well-trained, friendly staff. Our team includes two cooks, six housekeepers, four security guards operating on a 24-hour shift basis, one on-site engineering and maintenance technician, two gardeners and a supervisor.

Location

Taman Ahimsa is located on Bali’s southwest coast, within the beautiful agricultural belt between Canggu and Tanah Lot; an area that is home to some of the most luxurious private residences on the island. It is about 25 km north of the international airport, a 20 to 25 minute ride from the nightlife of Seminyak and Kuta, 15 minutes from the temple of Tanah Lot, Bali most visited attraction and the world famous Nirvana Golf Course.

Mahatma is the Sanskrit word for great spirit. The villa is dreamed to provide a great spirit to its guests. It is at a walking distance to Seseh fisherman’s beach; harmony of the waves can be enjoyed from all part of the property.

Set in a large square land, with one rectangular swimming pool, a large infinity swimming pool, a great water fall as at Combo Shambala, Villa Mahatma offers a luxurious accommodation within traditional feeling. With its waterfall, numerous fish ponds and manicured garden, you sense the minimalist pride with which this villa has been built.

Entering through its carefully handcrafted wooden gates, a sense of serenity will envelope you. From left to right, all is facing the large lawn. The property is divided into two parts: southern and northern wing; are separated by the large lawn. The southern wing is two storeys houses 3 luxurious bedrooms (1 downstairs, 2 upstairs), living area (west), dining area and kitchen (east). Both bedrooms upstairs has a balcony with great view to the ocean and surrounding garden. There are 2 self-standing bungalows on the northern wing with private luxurious bedroom, en-suite and an open veranda facing the garden. Both bungalows are separated by huge water fall as you may see at the Combo Shambala, Ubud.

Each bedroom is fully equipped with facilities and amenities in luxurious setting. Dark earth color dominates the property and its all bedrooms. Position of beds and baths is carefully calculated to get the best angle to view the ocean and the garden of the property.

At night, when life is turning down, you can only listen to the harmony of the waves of the ocean.

As mentioned above the living area is located on the west part of the southern wing. There are some sets of sofa. A unique wardrobe with Javanese Loro Blonyo statues hides the TV with sliding door. The dining area is located on the east part of this wing, opposite the living area. From the dining area we can view all parts of the property.

And its behind, a modern fully equipped kitchen is placed and operated by good chef. A state of the art kitchen with all modern conveniences along with its own herb garden caters gourmet healthy cuisine of micro-biotic and Japanese fare.

The garden is dominated by green lawn and a long lap swimming pool 18 X 5 m is located on its middle. The pool is with black tile following the dark color of the property. The pool mattress is special as it is with special thickness-can only be found at this villa. A pool and garden bale is located on the east part of the garden with special size of mattress.

Important Note

Many beaches in Bali are hazardous as currents can be strong. In front of the house there is a relatively quiet passage used by fishermen. Swimming is not recommended.
